Dermalux™ LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses narrow band, non-thermal light energy to trigger natural intracellular processes, accelerating rejuvenation and repair of the skin.
Utilising clinically proven Light Emitting Diode technology, Dermalux™ delivers excellent outcomes for a wide range of common skin concerns including ageing indications, acne and pigmentation. It also provides a significant development in the treatment of compromised and reactive skin conditions such as rosacea, wound healing and inflammatory disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.
As a result of ageing, skin disorders or trauma, healthy cells are compromised and unable to renew themselves normally. The skin has the ability to absorb certain wavelengths of light (colours) and use them as a source of energy to activate specific cellular functions to produce a therapeutic effect. LED’s can reproduce these individual wavelengths (nanometres) to recharge the cells, energising them to heal quicker and rejuvenate faster. It is a natural biochemical reaction similar to that of plant photo-synthesis through a process known as photobiomodulation.
Successful treatment with LED Phototherapy is determined by delivering clinically proven wavelengths that allow for specific cellular reactions to take place. Dermalux™ systems use only these wavelengths delivered at measured energy output, intensity and dose that allows for optimal photobiomodulation of target cells and skin tissue.
RED light at 633nm will benefit all skin types and has a unique rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. NEAR INFRA-RED light at 830nm is the most deeply absorbed wavelength by skin tissue and works synergistically with RED light, synthesising collagen, elastin and growth factors to counteract ageing and skin damage. The anti-bacterial action of BLUE LED 415nm is proven to be extremely effective in the treatment of acne and assisting in the prevention further breakouts.
A unique feature of Dermalux™ is that all three wavelengths can be delivered either as individual LED treatments or concurrently (CMT) in any selected combination providing stimulation at a sub-cellular, cellular and tissue level to target multiple concerns in one session for an optimal clinical response.
Unlike more invasive procedures, LED Phototherapy does not use heat, trauma or chemicals to promote change in the skin and therefore provides one of the safest modalities to treat all skin types (I to VI) without incidence of thermal damage or downtime. Furthermore, LED Phototherapy can be used in conjunction with most medication and enables the effective treatment of compromised, reactive and sensitive skin conditions.
LED Phototherapy is an excellent adjunctive procedure and can be combined with any existing skin treatment and product range to enhance clinical outcomes. LED light can be applied post treatment to reduce redness and inflammation, help to prevent infection and breakouts and improve healing time. It is also effective to prepare and strengthen the skin in advance of invasive procedures which may result in inflammation or trauma.
Treatment times are short and the visible effects are in most cases immediate; Dermalux™ instantly revives a tired and dull complexion. After just one treatment skin is incredibly hydrated, smooth and radiant and redness and irritation is calmed. A course of treatments offers corrective and lasting improvement in the appearance and health of the skin.
Dermalux™ is an affordable option for clients and due to growing awareness of the benefits, is rapidly becoming a highly sought after treatment.
